1. A portal is an idea of a website or service that offers a broad range of services, such as e-mail, games, quotes, search, news, and stocks. A portal, web portal, or vortex site offers such a broad range of commonly accessed services that visitors are more likely to visit more often. For example, the Yahoo homepage is a portal that gives visitors access to all the places and news that are popular.

2. Portal and Portal 2 are popular video and console games developed by Valve that involves the player in several puzzles. To solve these puzzles, the player uses a gun that creates an entrance and exit portal that allows the player or other objects to move to inaccessible areas.

3. Facebook Portal is a family of smart home video communication devices sold by Facebook.
