Quick Launch

Updated: 09/15/2017 by Computer Hope

Quick Launch is a section of the Microsoft Taskbar that enables a user the ability to launch their programs. This feature was first introduced with the release of Microsoft Windows 98 and is located to the right of the Start button and to the left of any open programs. Below is an example of the Windows Taskbar with the three Quick Launch icons in-between the Start button and the open programs. On the far right of the Taskbar is the Windows Notification Area.

With Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 Microsoft has migrated open programs and the Quick Launch into the same bar (Taskbar) and re-named the feature to Pin.
