Response time may refer to any of the following:
1. The response time is the total elapsed time from when a request is made to the time it is completed. For example, a company may show an expected response time for an e-mail response as eight hours. With an eight hour response time you can expect to wait up to eight hours to get a response.
2. When referring to an LCD, a response time is how many frames are displayed each second. Response time is important for users who are considering an LCD and plan on using that display for full motion video. An LCD with a slow response time can result in ghosting.
