A feature in media players, represented by two arrows pointing to the left, that enables the user to go backward in time. This function allows the listener to return to an earlier point in the recording. For example, in Windows Media Player, a software program capable of playing music and movie files you could rewind to see or hear something you've enjoyed.


Most keyboards that have an Fn key also have a function key with the ability to rewind. For example, on the Apple keyboard, pressing F7 rewinds.
