RS-422

Designed to replace the RS-232 standard with higher data transfer rates, RS-422 is a data communications standard used with Apple Macintosh computers as their serial port. RS-422 supports multiple connections and supports RS-232C communications.
Note
The letter "C" in RS-232C indicates that the version is the third in a series.
