Alternatively known as a PC stick, a stick computer is a personal computer entirely within a small dongle. They are portable computing devices that are more affordable but less powerful than laptops or similar options. Stick computers can be plugged directly into an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) or another video port on a display like a monitor or television. Once plugged in, they can be controlled by Bluetooth peripherals or through the computer's USB (universal serial bus) port.

Many stick computers are specialized for specific tasks, such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick and Google Chromecast, which run operating systems designed specifically for media consumption. Other PC sticks like the ASUS Chromebit and Intel W5 Pro Mini PC run entire computer operating systems but can only perform simple tasks due to their limited hardware.
