Swype
Updated: 04/02/2019 by Computer Hope
Released in 2013, Swype was a popular third-party virtual keyboard application for iOS and Android smartphones. Swype allowed users to slide their finger across the keyboard, stopping at each letter to spell out words in a single motion, rather than pressing each letter individually. Development of Swype was discontinued in 2018, and the application was removed from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
Since the release of Swype, a similar feature called "glide typing" is included in many smartphones, including Samsung smartphones and the Google Pixel.
