Texture mapping

Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope

Texture mapping is a technique that gives a surface to a computer image or a computer 3D model. For example, a graphic artist may give a graphic object a stone texture, making the object look more like a realistic stone object. A user may also scan a surface of a real object, such as a person's face, and map it onto an object.
