UnixWare is an x86, Unix-based operating system originally released by Univel; a company jointly owned by AT&T and Novell. It is primarily used on servers and is rarely run on desktop computers. Its design focuses on high levels of reliability, scalability, and security. UnixWare contains a large amount of open source software components, including X11, BIND (Berkeley Internet Name Domain), sendmail, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), Perl, and Tcl.
