Released on July 3, 2012, Uplay is a proprietary video game distribution program created by Ubisoft. Uplay is used to manage a user's library of Ubisoft games and downloadable content. It allows users to launch games, install updates, and download content that has previously been purchased. The games and content are accessed using a Uplay account, which is secured with a username and password.

Uplay is required for playing Ubisoft games on a Windows computer, even if the game was purchased using a different platform, such as Steam. Although it is not required on these platforms, Uplay can also be accessed on PlayStation, Xbox, Wii U, iOS, and Android.
