USENIX, officially known as the Advanced Computing Systems Association, is a non-profit organization of engineers, system administrators, scientists, and technicians founded in 1975. Its stated mission is:

  • To foster technical excellence and innovation.
  • To support and disseminate research with a practical bias.
  • To provide a neutral forum for discussion of technical issues.
  • To encourage computing outreach into the community at large.

USENIX focuses on organizing vendor-neutral conferences and events, and providing technical research to the public free of charge, without a paywall.
