USENIX, officially known as the Advanced Computing Systems Association, is a non-profit organization of engineers, system administrators, scientists, and technicians founded in 1975. Its stated mission is:
- To foster technical excellence and innovation.
- To support and disseminate research with a practical bias.
- To provide a neutral forum for discussion of technical issues.
- To encourage computing outreach into the community at large.
USENIX focuses on organizing vendor-neutral conferences and events, and providing technical research to the public free of charge, without a paywall.
