Windows Mixed Reality is a platform developed by Microsoft which utilizes VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) technology. The platform is available exclusively on Windows, and supports VR games and applications from the Microsoft Store, with Steam VR titles. A large selection of Windows Mixed Reality headsets and controllers are available from manufacturers including Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, Dell, HP (Hewlett-Packard), and Samsung.

There are over 2,500 games and applications available from the Microsoft Store and Steam for the Windows Mixed Reality platform. Popular games include Minecraft, Halo Recruit, and Superhot VR.

To use Windows Mixed Reality, your PC must be running Windows 10 (Fall Creators Update or newer), and be "Windows Mixed Reality-ready." To find out if you meet the requirements, you can run the Windows Mixed Reality PC check application to determine if your computer can run the platform.
