A Windows Update is any software update provided by Microsoft that helps improve Microsoft Windows stability or helps improve its overall security. In the picture below is an example of what Windows Update looks like in Windows 7.

Why do you need Windows updates?
Windows Update fixes any bugs, security vulnerabilities, or other problems in your version of Windows. These updates help prevent your computer from crashing, getting errors, and helps your computer from getting hacked. We highly recommend all Windows users update their version of Windows with the latest Windows updates.
