Introduced on February 27, 2017, YouTube TV is a subscription-based entertainment service tied to your Google account. In addition to the library of movies and television series available via streaming, YouTube TV includes access to over 70 live TV channels, similar to a traditional cable television service. Users can schedule recordings, saved on unlimited storage space on the virtual DVR (digital video recorder). Content purchased or rented from the Google Play Store and YouTube can also be viewed through the service.

YouTube TV is available on several smart TV platforms, including Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Chromecast. It can also be downloaded on iOS, Android, Xbox, or PlayStation devices, or streamed through a compatible Internet browser. A YouTube TV subscription starts at $49.99 per month.
