Broadcom
Founded in 1991 by Henry Samueli and Henry Nicholas, Broadcom was a manufacturer of products for broadband and wireless communications. In May 2015, Broadcom was purchased by Avago Technologies Ltd. for $37 billion. After the purchase, the company was renamed to Broadcom Limited.
Broadcom Limited manufacturers processor ICs and transceivers for cable modems, DSL, wireless networks, routers, switches, cell phones, and other devices. Companies that use Broadcom Limited products include Apple, ASUS, Cisco Systems, Dell, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Linksys, Logitech, Nintendo, and TiVo.
