Grid lines

Alternatively called a column separator or row separator, grid lines or gridlines divide each of the cells, rows, and columns in a spreadsheet. They are also frequently used in graphic design programs, such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, to help align elements in a document. In the picture below are examples of gridlines in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
