    Code 101 usually points to hardware issues, especially overheating. If you are overclocking, revert to stock. Check all possible causes of overheating, including CPU heatsink for dust, CPU fan for correct rotation, and heatsink compound for correct installation, All thse things apply specially if this is a new build.

      Thank you for your assistance. However, it don't think the computer is overheating. It only happens when first starting the computer. Then when I reboot, it doesn't give me a BSOD. For instance, it has been running since this morning after the second reboot and it isn't overheating or shutting down.

      Based on that i would suspect a flakey PSU.

      Bug check 0x101 is CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT triggered by a CPU watchdog timer; CPU unresponsive or deadlocked. I can imagine flakey power triggering stuff like this, or a faulty core in the CPU, or a faulty device driver or a number of other issues including damaged hardware.

        The solution would be to investigate your hardware. For example, try a different power supply. I told you all this above on April 17th in Reply #1.

        The PSU suggestion is entirely yours, Patio.

        If a PSU is near its limits, sometimes setting HDD spinup delay in the BIOS to (say) 4 seconds might calm it down a bit at system boot time, maybe?

        We don't know anything at all about this system, whether it worked OK and suddenly started doing this, or whether it is a new build, or a used one newly acquired, or what. Or its specs.
