    Word Ctrl O Function
    « on: November 07, 2016, 12:15:13 PM »
    Hello,

I recently reloaded my Microsoft Office 2007 software and it has changed some functions.  I used to be able to click ctrl+o and it would re-open to the same folder I was just in.  Now, it opens to my documents every time.  Where are the settings for this???

    Thank you!!

    Here is a reference:
    https://www.shortcutworld.com/en/win/Word_2007.html

This one says  control + O will open a document.

    From CH Archives...
    http://www.computerhope.com/shortcut/word.htm
It says "Toggles 6pts of spacing before a paragraph."

Thank you.  I'm actually looking how to customize the ctrl+O.  This function used to bring me back to where I had already "drilled" into  - i.e.  I would open my C drive, select correspondence file, select a letter, open the letter.  Then, when I was within the letter, I would hit "ctrl-O" and it would bring me back to that correspondence folder.  Now, it opens back to "my documents" folder every time.

The feature for remembering folder locations is a Feature of Windows, effectively it tries to remember the last folder that each program had open and will re-open the folder if the program doesn't tell it what folder it should open.

I'm not able to reproduce the issue where it's not remembered, so I don't know how it would be fixed. It's definitely been reported by many users on Windows 7 across various applications, however.

I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

My Word 2003 on Windows 10 Anniversary Update definitely remembers the folder of the last file opened.
