"DDR3 AMD only" RAM? Will it work in an Intel MoBo?
« on: February 12, 2017, 01:23:39 AM »
I recently saw a listing for 4x4 GB DDR3 RAM sticks stating "AMD only, High density". Can that represent a problem for my Gigabyte EX58-UD3R?

Happy New Year! Haven't posted here for a while, so I think this is necessary to be said.

"High Density" RAM is junk, it just happens to work with AMD boards due to them having generally more lenient memory controllers, it will almost certainly not work properly on an Intel board.  Don't fall for the low prices of cheap "high density" RAM, get proper stuff to save on headaches down the line.
