DMA Controller Error
« on: December 03, 2005, 02:09:24 PM »
Specs: Win XP Pro  w/ Service Pack 2

512MB RAM
Pentium 4 2.6Ghz
Radeon 9800 Pro
Sony CDRW CRX320E
Samsung SP8004H HD

Well my computer is acting less than favorable and I want to know if anyone else has had the same problem.

On a reboot, I keep getting

DMA Controller Error
System Halted

or

DMA-1 Error
System Halted

Now this is not a problem, after about 10-15 times turning it off and turning it back on again, it will boot up normal. However, I will be in the middle of play a game, like Civ IV or Ages III and my system will just up and reboot on me! Then it will reboot and I get the DMA Controller Error sytem message.

After about 2 months of having it, the intergrated NIC card is shot (I use a wireless USB adapter now and it works ok)
