I have to agree with one of patio's replies. If you thoroughly cleanup the USB configuration within your system (thru Device Manager) and reboot, then it should re-initialize everything and work.
I've also heard you should look for and remove PREVIOUS USB devices that no longer appear in Device Manager. A freeware utility, USBDeview, can help you with this. It provides a lot of useful information about your current USB devices as well as previous ones and allows you to remove them from system. Information may be found at:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.htmlTheir description of its functionality is:
"USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used.
For each USB device, exteneded information is displayed: Device name/description, device type, serial number (for mass storage devices), the date/time that device was added, VendorID, ProductID, and more...
USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used, and disconnect USB devices that are currently connected to your computer."
I hope this information proves helpful.... dahlarbear
