Help with Microphone
« on: June 04, 2008, 05:36:32 AM »
Hi,
I have a couple of questions. I just downloaded Skype and it isn't working because my microphone is muted. I have tried many ways to unmute it but it doesn't seem to work. The balances slider about my microphone volume is disabled and won't let me move it. I have a HP Pavilion zv6000 with Microsoft Windows XP purchased in 2005.

Does my computer have an internal microphone?
Suggestions on getting it to operate.
Is it possible for the microphone to be physically damaged?
Is there any download that can reset the default sound and audio settings?
Should I purchase a separate microphone if the internal one doesn't work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have contacted HP several times and they haven't been any help so far.

*Also, on Mixer Device it says : Conexant AMC Audio?

Thank you.
