Everytime I try to install a new Geforce driver for my Geforce 260 gtx, I get this error message pop up when windows starts.  Error in C:\windowssystem\nvsvc.dll Missing entry:nvsvcStart.

Seems I am stuck with using an older driver, unless someone here can help me out with this error. Thanks!!

You may need to uninstall/reinstall the nVidia Control Panel software as well...

Ok, is the Nvidia Control Panel a separate download?

Is your computer overclocked?

No it is not overclocked - Why, what are you thinking it could be? Like I said the old driver works fine, it's just when I try to install a more upto date one. Thanks!!

I hate to say this, but I'm stumped.  I'm getting tired.

I checked NVidia's support site, I can't find a thing on it.  Have you tried phoning their customer support line?

Can you post the entry from the event log?  That might help.

Are you installing the control panel with the driver or just the driver?

Yes I belive thats it, but I dont think it mentioned that it was also compatable with windows 7, like it does in the link you posted. I think the one I downloaded just said Vista 32bit.
