Unable to play DVD through TV/VCR.

Issue:

Unable to play DVD through TV/VCR.

Cause:

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities.

  1. DVD not connected properly
  2. TV / VCR line not set properly
  3. Laptop video signal not set

Solution:

DVD not connected properly

Verify that the RCA / SVideo cable is connected to the correct connection on the TV / VCR. Generally, this connection will be labeled as LINE IN or may be CD LINE IN.

Verify that the power to the DVD player is connected to a known working power outlet.

TV / VCR line not set properly

In most cases it is necessary to change the line input of the TV / VCR. This can generally be changed by pressing the LINE, TV/VCR, VIDEO or Input Select button.

Laptop video signal not set

If you are using your laptop as the DVD player, verify that the connections are connected properly to the laptop or DVD dongle. Next, verify that the video signal is set properly; some laptops may require that a special key combination be pressed to switch to video out.
