Carbon ribbon

Type of printer and typewriter ribbon similar to carbon paper that is commonly used with impact printers and typewriters. When an impact printer head hits the ribbon, a mark of the printer head is left on the paper. Today, this type of printer ribbon is rarely used with computers.
