CISSP (certified information systems security professional) is a computer security certification created by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)2. The eight CISSP domains are the following.

  • Access and identity management
  • Asset security
  • Network and security communication
  • Risk and security management
  • Security engineering
  • Security operations
  • Software development security
  • Testing security assessment

As of July 2022, there are around 152,000 people who hold the CISSP certification worldwide. The certification is formally approved by the U.S. Department of Defense in the Information Assurance Technical and Information Assurance Managerial categories.
