Released in July 2016, DTube (also known as Decentralized Tube) is a decentralized ad-free video-sharing platform. It is built on the DTC (DTube coin) blockchain, which allows content hosting and rewards its users with cryptocurrency.

Unlike traditional video hosting platforms, DTube does not rely on a centralized server or company to store and distribute its content. Instead, it operates on a peer-to-peer network, where videos are stored and shared across multiple participating computers. This structure makes DTube resistant to censorship and ensures that content remains available even if specific nodes or servers go offline.

One of the distinguishing features of DTube is its integration of cryptocurrency rewards. Users who upload videos to and engage with the platform can earn tokens called DTC. The rewards are distributed based on the upvotes and attention received, providing an incentive for creators and participants to contribute to the platform.
