High-persistence phosphor

A high-persistence phosphor is a neon phosphor used in monitors that help the monitor illuminate longer, lowers refresh rates, and reduces the flicker effect. With early monitors, this phosphor caused bad animation of moving objects such as a mouse cursor that often had a noticeable trail as it moved.
