Opt may refer to any of the following:

1. Opt is a user's acceptance or participation of a program. For example, a user who chooses to opt-in to an e-mail newsletter starts receiving that newsletter until they choose to opt-out. Many e-mail solicitations sent by companies offer a way to opt-out from further correspondence by clicking 'unsubscribe'.

2. When describing a utility, OptOut was one of the first adware programs, that helped users opt out of known adware. The utility was created by Steve Gibson of GRC (Gibson Research Corporation).
