Recovery Drive

Updated: 12/26/2023 by Computer Hope

Recovery Drive is a Microsoft Windows program that creates a 32 GB drive to restore Windows when a problem occurs. The program is accessible through Windows Accessories or the Windows search and when opened, it shows a start screen similar to the example below.

Once Recovery Drive is open, click Next to create a recovery drive for Windows.

Note

The drive used for recovery is completely deleted before the files are copied to it. For this reason, we only recommend using a USB (universal serial bus) flash drive as a medium for this process.

After the drive is created, place it somewhere safe, and if the computer encounters problems, it can recover important system files to allow the computer to work again.
