URL Shortener

Online service that takes a long URL and shortens it into something smaller. For example, the URL: http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/c/cmos.htm would become: http://tinyurl.com/ynkjhp using the TinyURL URL shortener service. These short URLs allow you to share a page with other people and are necessary when using services like Twitter that only allow 140-characters per post.
