McAfee Uninstall Help Please

ok... This is just a BIT confusing, so please let me know if you get lost... Here's the situation... When I customized my Dell PC, I said that I wanted NO security subscription... However... Those idiots installed McAfee Security Center (Antivirus and firewall) anyway... Here's what I want to do... I want to UNINSTALL the virus scan, but keep the firewall.... (I have Norton to replace it) I can see 3 things in the add/removbe programs... McAfee Virus scan , McAfee Security Center , and McAfee Firewall... Do I just uninstall ONLY the virus scan from here? Is there any chance that removing this will hurt my computer in any way? Please help!

    Uninstall everything & use AVG & Sygate.  ;D

      Uninstall Mcafee Virus scan. If there are seperate entries, chances are they work independantly.

      Besides, if the computer stops working, its still under warranty. Just tell Dell it tried to hit on you. Its not like technical support understands.

      Thanks guys! the reason I'm "on the edge" about it is becuase on my last computer, I uninstalled an older version of mcAfee, and it messed up something in the computer, making it so that I can not use the internet... So I had to reformat... But, I'll give this a shot ans post results... Thanks again!

      P.S. (The hobby thing: NNNNOOOOO!!!!!  :-[ :o  lol  )

      Alright, I have just now uninstalled McAfee Virus scan, and I will now install Norton System Works 2005 in its place... I will continue to post updates. Any comments are always welcome and appreciated!

      Ok. Now I see Merlin lol  I agree! I always hated McAfee after what it did to my last computer... I swear by Norton as being a great program!
