IE can not dislpay the webpage
    « on: March 04, 2011, 07:41:27 AM »
I have a Dell desktop with Windows XP.  After running a basic virus scan using Malewarebytes, I can no longer get an internet connection.  I run through a Belkin WiFi , which I have rebootted as well.  All to no avail.  Please help....

First, MalwareBytes is not an anti virus utility. Do you have an anti virus app installed and always resident?

Oops....I did run Maleware but also ran Avira.  After running those, I can't get an internet connection.  Diagnostics log says there are problems with settings for: http port 80, https port 443, FTP port 21.

Check your IE LAN settings. Tools, Internet options, Connections, LAN settings and uncheck Automatic configuration script and Proxy Servers and leave Automatically detect settings checked.

Please download MiniToolBox and run it.

      Checkmark following boxes:
      • Report IE Proxy Settings
      • List content of Hosts
      • List IP configuration
Click Go and post the result.
