    D: doesnt work

    I put c.ds into my drive and then nothing pops up .. i was told to go to computer then it should be there but its not so i click D: Factory Image.. then all thats in thjat file is Recovery.. and what it says in there is:

    Recovery Partition
    Warning!
     
    This area of your hard drive
    (or partition) contains files used
    for your PC Recovery.
     
    Do not delete or alter these files.
     
    Any change to this partition could
    prevent any recovery later.

    D: is your recovery partition and should not be messed with.
    If you have a CD drive it should be E; F: G: or whatever...depending on how the machine is setup...

    I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

      sorry for double post.. yes i was just talkin with someone i mean in my computer i have no e: file.. nothing loads..i tryed restoring my computer but that didnt work

        and i also did this:
        control panel,System,Device manager,
        now click on DVD/CD-ROM Drives.

        but i have no DVD/CD-ROM Drives. any where at all

        Open a side panel and check all cabling...
        If this is a laptop remove the dribe and re-seat it with the power removed...

          Even if there were software issues with the drives they should still be showing up in Device Manager...
          How old is this machine ?
          Any issues before this ?
          Any Yellow ??'s in Device Manager ? ?

            honestly bought from someone so i have no idea about problems or how old it is ...is there soem way i could find these things out to help you =)

              well i updated my comp/...i had like 75 thing to update...i guess it did all of them....my drive works now but my internet doesnt work now, i'm using someone elses comp....now this pops up

              Internet explorer has stopped working
              windows can check online for a solution for a problem
              -> check windows for a solution and close the program
              -> close the program

              everytime i open it nothing loads... and this happened alot before but while i was on the internet, i would just close it and then reopen and start over but ya now its not doin nothin
