    Missing Icons

I changed some icons on my desktop yesterday and when I started the computer today some of them were gone, changed to a "missing icon" icon, if you know what I mean. Why are some gone and some stayed with what I changed to? :P

Depends on what you changed them to...
For example if they were on another drive and or a USB drive and it's no longer plugged in it will show the default ugleeeee icon if it cannot find it.

The icons are on the main hard drive. I downloaded some icons off the web and made some of my own and put them in a folder in my "Libraies, Pictures" folder. Most of them won't stay put. Mainly just the ones that are in here  C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll will stay. I tried to put more icons in this folder but can't seem to be able to. Is there a way to put more icons there or a better place to store them?

Patio certainly knows more, but if you try to add folder icons on windows you tend to run into issues... I have no real knowledge of this as I stopped the first time I tried.
