    wireless router help

    I have a Belkin Wireless Router hockedup to my Tesktop pc throught a CAT Cable  and I will be getting a Netbook to use the wireless router.

    Now I know if I type  192.168.2.1  in my adress bar it will access the Routers Firmware.

    But I need help I never configrued one befor  and I would like to know how to do it.
    The booklet just tell how to hock it up and I did that???

      Your netbook should automatically detect the wireless router, so all you should need to do is enter the encryption key to access it,  (WEP or WAP), then it should connect automatically.

      No need to access the router...
      If you have a good wireless connection already setup just let the netbook detect the network and set it as default.

      My hunch is he has not enabled WEP or WAP since, up to now, he apparently has not used the router for wireless connectivity.  Wireless broadcast might even be disabled in the router; actually, it should be if he has not been using a wireless device. 

      Assuming WEP or WAP is not enabled and wireless broadcast is not disabled in the router's control panel, you should be able to do as patio said.  Then, I'd enable WAP to secure your wireless connection from any intrusion from outsiders.

        I do not have a netbook yet and I have to enter the router firmware to setup a Password.

        I never new how to do this please help
