Error when Re-Installing Sound Driver for Sony Viao with Windows XP

I am really in dire needs of sound on my laptop.  I have a Sony Viao model VGN-FE790.  It has Windows XP.  It has been through a system recovery and completely wiped clean and re-installed.  Aparently my sound driver was not re-installed.  I went to the Sony support site and tried downloading.  At the end I get the error message that the driver installed is not for this model.  The site said otherwise.  My computer does not list ANY drivers for sound so I have no idea which one i need to re-install.  Can anyone help me?

Download System Information for Windows: http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html to your Desktop.
Get SIW Standalone (English-Only).
Double click on siw.exe to run the program.
Go File>Create Report File>HTML
Save the file to known location.
Zip the file, and attach it to your next reply.

after i click run a window pops up stating:

C:\Documents and Settings\April\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IES\JSW9C9N6\siw[1].exe is not a valid Win32 application

Right click and run as administrator.

I'm sorry. You're with XP. For some reason, I thought, you're with Vista.

I'm not sure, why SIW wouldn't work.

Let's try something else.

In left pane expand Computer folder.
Click once on Summary
In upper menu, go Report>Quick Report-Summary
Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Don't include anything under the line Debug - PCI

Then, is it this audio driver, you tried to install?

from the info listed am i wanting to download driver     SigmaTel STAC9225 ?  please verify!  are there certain sites that you recommend finding this at?

sorry i posted that last one before i read your latest post.  yes it was the sound driver i tried reinstalling from the sony site.   currently downloading that last link (intel chipset)

Now, try to install a driver form Sony's site again.
If it doesn't work....
