I have a usb mouse that won't operate through a usb port.  However, it works fine through the ps/2 port using an adapter.  Newer pc running xp.  Older mouse.  Any thoughts?

Gotta ask the obvious questions which you have probably tried.

Have you tried it on other USB ports, both front and back.  Do other USB devices, thumb drives, cameras, etc. work on the USB ports?

Ok ... duh! ... tried a different port and works.  Obvious first, I should know that.
