    « on: March 15, 2010, 02:48:26 PM »
    Hi,

have a prosys Model CL50 laptop. With Win XP. It boots, then the Win xp splash screen comes on and we see it is loading windows. Then it goes black. But the arrow is present and I can move it around. But that is it.Black screen and my arrow. Tried Ubuntu and it worked perfect. So what could be the cause?

    Thanks in advance,
    redd  :)

What is different since the last time the system booted normally (new hw, sw, virus, error, etc)?

From what I was told (cause it is not my laptop) said he booted it and surprise black. But I will try and get more info out of him. And will let you know. Funny thing is even in safe mode same problem. You see at the top of the screen safe mode bla bla bla...But that's it.   :-\

I have absolutely no idea what bla bla bla is. When you provide additional information please be as detailed as possible.

the bla bla bla is the information that you see on the screen in safe mode top and bottom of the screen. Didn,t know what the rest was so I used bal bla bla or etc if you like. Better?

In safe mode the only text on the screen is "Safe mode" in all four corners.

Tap the F8 key as the computer is starting up (before windows loads). This will take you to the advanced startup options. On this screen select "last known good configuration" and press enter.

Can you see the screen now?
