Hello again i keep getting an error message that says my computer cannot find my USB device

I don't know how to fix this.

Before this i was having some problems i couldn't connect to the itunes store and i couldn't download or log in to yahoo messenger.

I have a dell computer and it is running windows xp.

EXACTLY what are the problems. EXACTLY what happens when you try to do whatever you are trying to do. What happened between the last time the system worked properly and the first time it did not (new hw, sw, virus, error, etc). What OS are you using. What have you done to try to fix the problem(s). Everything you think might be useful.

I forgot to mention that i am getting a Blue Screen of Death.

The problems are i'm having trouble connecting to somethings.

With the itunes store when i try to connect it says"itunes could not connect to the itunes store make sure your connection is active and try again"

With the yahoo messenger "i get yahoo messenger is unable to download files needed for installation please check firewall settings and retry installation."

And yes i had a virus and i got it removed.

What have i done to fix the problem? run an anti-virus and a registry mechanic and called my cable company to see if i'm having connectivity problems.

You forgot to mention a BSOD?
When do you get the bllue screen and what is the exact error message?
Also, you should go to the malware forum on this site and follow the instructions at the top of the page. Let's be absolutely certain that your system is malware free.

It just seems to happen randomly i think and i'm not sure what it says it's just a load of technobabble to me but it does say that i might have installed a software wrong even tho i have not done so.

I downloaded and ran Malware Bytes and i found and cleared 11 infections.

Nothing has changed unfortunately.

Is there anything more i should do on that front?

Let's try to simplify things for you. You said it was a Dell? What is the model number? Go to www.support.dell.com, enter the Dell service tag, and download the drivers you need. However, it's unlikely to be the issue, sounds more like hardware or malware issue. BSOD's could be either.

Ugh i got it again (i dont know why) so here is the complete error message: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" (here we get the error message i reported before) and then" if this is the first time youve seen this stop error screen restart your computer"

STOP Error 0x00000001: APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
STOP error 0x1 means that there has been a mismatch in the APC state index. STOP code 0x00000001 may also display "APC_INDEX_MISMATCH" on the same STOP message.

1. A kernel-level application or device driver running in kernel mode created a mismatch of thread and asynchronous procedure calls (APC) indexes. This is probably due to a file system mismatch in the number of processes that entered the critical area compared to those that left. Allowing the software to run at this point will corrupt or damage the system.
2. This could be due to newly added hardware or software issues.
3. This error can pop up when a CD or DVD is inserted into the drive
4. This error also happens when the computer uses the Windows Vista Aero color scheme.
5. Sometimes, when we unlock the computer and login to the default desktop this STOP error shows up.
6. This STOP error sometimes occurs after the computer transitions into to sleep mode repeatedly (by customer usage).
7. This problem can also happen in a secure desktop environment (when we lock the computer) where an application has registered an “event hook” using an Application Programming Interface
8. Problems in the Windows system file win32k.sys can trigger this STOP error.
9. Memory corruption can also create these conditions.
10. Too much RAM (> 2GB) may exceed motherboard and BIOS capabilities and create this STOP Error.

and before you got a IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL error... the APC_STATE.... error is probably rather rare; my guess is you may have bad memory.
