    Ialmrnt5 Display Driver Stopped Responding

    Hi all,
I'm getting the same error message as detailed in the below post.

The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save yourwork and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine  a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to microsoft.

Here is what I have done:
    - turned down graphics acceleration (no luck)
    - system restore back 2 months (no luck)
    - reformatted hard drive and reinstalled with XP Pro (no luck)
    - pointing fan at the computer

After reformatting and installing XP Pro I had to re-install all of the video and audio drivers as they had "?" next to them in the device manager.  No question marks anymore but I am still getting the same error.  After getting the error my PC reboots itself and all is fine for a short while.

Any help or advice would be appreciated, I can follow along and pick things up pretty well, but am by no means expert, or even intermediate level when it comes to repairing PC's.

    Thanks

    I have a Dell E510
XP Home Edition on SP3 (before the issue started)
    Currently XP Pro

Travel to Dell and enter your Service tag#...
It will list all your drivers there.
Dell's can be finicky about drivers...so you should use theirs.

I've done that, but for my service tag they onlly list a few CD/DVD drivers and some Communication drivers.  The remaining drivers they offer are in a separate tab for the E510/5150 models.  This is where I downloaded all of the updated drivers from.

For the video driver downloads I downloaded
Intel Driver - 945G Graphics Controller
Intel Driver - 82945G Express Chipset Family

When attempting to install 945G Graphics Controller I kept getting an error saying there was a second disk as part of this installation that needed to be inserted.  No idea what that disk is, or if this is whatis causing my continuing problems.

There are 11 other video driver downloads listed, but I do not beleive those are for the hardware in my specific PC.

      Thanks again.

Hey again, spent another hour or so last night trying to resolve this and can't get much of anything done before I get the vide card error and the computer restarts itself.  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
