    « on: March 16, 2010, 10:58:23 PM »
    Hi Everybody!

Am running windows XP on an HP dc7700 Desktop. I have an installation window that come by itself and its refusing  to go.

Its labeled 'status'. when I cancel it,  its comes back again.

    The error message is like:

"The feature you are trying to use is on the CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'status' disk and press ok..

The biggest problem is I cant install some programs , the are saying another installation is in progress.

    Plz help

What led up to this? Did you install new hw or sw, was there an error or a virus? As a first step you might want to run full scans with both your anti virus utility and malwarebytes.
