Adapters Die

I have a HP Pavillon dv9000 Laptop..adapter died...each new adapter lasts about 2 to 3 weeks. Any thoughts?
I'm a beginner. Thanks for your help.

Do you mean the AC Power Adapter?
Are these all used ones from eBay?
