iTunes won't recognize my CD drive...
    « on: March 19, 2010, 10:12:41 AM »
I redownloaded the sound driver program on my computer last week and since then iTunes hasn't been recognizing the CDs I put into my computer! I've updated iTunes, I've tried restarting iTunes like 20 different ways, I've restarted my computer, I've reinserted five different CDs...
    Help please!!

I'm at work and don't have itunes here in front of me, but i know there's a default drive setting in itunes, find that and make sure it's set to the right drive

are the cd's showing up in "my computer", and can you open them in windows media player?  it may be a hardware problem.  another thing you can try, under the itunes help menu, go to "run diagnostics", select cd/dvd drive and run it to see if you can diagnose the problem that way

did you uninstall the old driver before installing the new one?  If you did an install on top of an old one, do a full uninstall, drivers and hardware, and reinstall from scratch
