i keep trying to unchecked the read only box in properties but I'm denied. help

I'm trying to use a crack but i cant move it because it a read only file and i cant un check that in the properties tab i get denied access

Is he admitting to doing something illegal. I mean computer/online illegal?

Seriously, I am really asking because I don't know. I just looked up cracked software on wikipedia and it said illegal.
