« on: March 25, 2010, 03:59:26 PM »
I need a wireless router that will allow me to use my macbook pro and a dell laptop in my house.  Need an excellent range so I can sit outside and work.

Airport extreme is a good option for your needs. you can also try DLink DIR-655 Wireless N Router.

We really need more details.  Exactly, how far from the router would you be when sitting outside?  What barriers, i.e. walls, are there between where your router is located and the location you would normally be sitting outside?

If the outside location is actually fairly close to the location of the router, with only lumber, drywall, and a non-brick exterior siding, many models of wireless routers would probably work fine for you.
