We have a Chinese student living with us, and he brought his laptop.
Our wireless wasn't showing up on it etc, and nothing could be found.
I tried to repair the wireless connection on the laptop, and I think I also tried right click, properties -> internet protocol -> install.
At this point there were a couple of settings that he said would be ok to click; but then the thing restarted.
It now asks for user name and password; where it didn't before. He says he's never needed one and so doesn't know what it could be.
It is all in Chinese too, so very hard to mirror my English computer over to Chinese.
Any idea why changing a network setting could lock it up like that?
