Does Dell replace lost installation disks?

My father has a legit product key for Win XP Media Center Edition, but doesn't have the disk...

Can you get used Windows XP Media Center Edition disks from anywhere?

well nevermind, I had him call Dell with the service tag # and there sending him another disc for 10 dollars.

Lots of people on the Internet say Dell doesn't send new discs.  I wonder where there (they're  :P)  coming from..

Dell is one of the better manuf. when it comes to this as is Acer as well....
Media Center CD's are extremely rare....even from the manuf.

Good to hear he is solved.

:)   I'm going to format his HDD and reinstall for him in a couple weeks.  I went to sift through his computer yesterday to see what I could do to speed it up.  Since he got the computer in 2005 he has not reinstalled and there's just too much crap to sift through at this point, aside from the fact that he's had many viruses that I've removed.

Is there a way to copy the recovery partition on a dell system to an external disc, in case the hard drive fails and your unable to obtain a replacement disc?
