have a seagate disc which returns an i/o error when i try to initiate in in windows 7

so it was my data disc and i need the data off...work stuff pictures...music etc.

there was a file folder where i used to download stuff, now there was so much stuff inside i really cant recall most of it....

i need a tool which can call up records of indexed files from that disc so that i could maybe try and download them again....from the file names.

how can i view  records of files accessed on a computer or files indexed by windows (from the windows install)
