Where do get that notion?  I see nothing related to ie5 there.  Am I missing something?

Edit: Maybe this should be moved to Off-topic.   ;)

There's lots of hidden Easter Eggs in movies, tv shows, software, music, books, and art. And yes there are even some Hardware and Electronics Easter Eggs too!

For example: Like dialing # numbers of your cellphone to bring up a credit screen, game or service menu, etc. Release codes for old american coke machines. Printers have the creators names listed, etc. Apple iPod has a built-in game in game. Clicksor Keyboards have messages from the creators on the display. DVD Players sometimes have Secret Loopholes menus where you can edit the Region ID as well as other things. Some Macs, consoles, Wacom Tablet, etc, all have easter eggs and the list goes on! I know the Nintendo has them in the Gamecude, Wii, Gameboy, etc. There was even Tetris built-in as an Egg on an Oscilloscope!

Every single one of those is a software easter egg.

hardware would mean it's literally circuited that way.

edit: some of the nintendo ones might be that way. But I would still imagine that they are part of the game/system ROM.

BC_Programmer, I guess your right, those 'hardware' ones would be embedded into the software or ROM.

Take a look at the Easter Eggs on: http://www.eeggs.com

For some others like movies/music, etc.
I like the 'Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) - Wizard of Oz' Easter Egg, lol.

          Happy Easter All!

Older cartridge ones are probably the closest to being purely hardware based, since for the most part they are literally part of the chip... but then again the software is part of the chip too... hard to say.

a hardware based easter egg wouldn't be very fun anyways.
